Openings

The Center for Poetry depends on the work of our talented and enthusiastic student interns to carry out our mission.

Our call for 2024-25 student interns will go out in spring semester 2024.

We employ a small staff of undergraduate students with excellent organizational skills and an interest in poetry, writing, and/or literature. Experience in graphic and/or web design, photography/video, and/or social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, are desirable.

This internship offers an hourly wage and rich experience and mentoring in areas such as public relations/communication, event planning, publishing, contest administration, and community engagement, and may be optionally taken for academic credit.

The time commitment is 6-8 hours per week. Regular hours are scheduled around each intern's availability and fall on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. with occasional evening hours required to staff visiting writer events. The RCAH Center for Poetry at MSU is committed to equality of opportunity and is nondiscriminatory relative to race, ethnicity, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, age, gender, gender identity, disability, height, marital status, political persuasion, sexual orientation, veteran status, or weight.
